This residency has been thrilling for Underground System to program. We are a band that has continually reinvented our sound as a product of the vast musical diversity in NYC. The Sultan Room stuck out as the perfect place to incubate and synthesize our sound even further, cross-pollinating with NYC bands that are pushing an aesthetic as unique as ours.
Given the opportunity to program 3 blowout nights of music, we decided to craft thematically distinct bills featuring inspiring artists from different corners of our community in NYC. Underground System will be performing brand new material that play with all these influences, and one major goal with this residency is to engage our audience and our scene in new ways, shining a light on the diverse and inspired musical context we are all crafting in real time.
